Visa and Passport Requirements for North Cyprus

Entry Warning

The documentation and fee required for obtaining visas varies according to both your nationality and where you are applying from. It is the sole right of each country to determine who is allowed to enter.

Passport

All passports must be valid for six months and have two clear pages free.

Taxes

Some countries may charge an arrival or departure tax which may or may not be included in the price of an airline ticket, or may need to be paid in cash on arrival or departure.

Australia A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
Canada A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
Denmark A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
Ireland A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
Netherlands A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
New Zealand A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
South Africa A visa is required please contact your nearest Embassy for up to date information.
United States A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.
United Kingdom A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days.

Pasaport & Visa RequirementsOther Nationalities

The citizens of European Union (EU) nations, Turkey, USA, Canada, Mexico, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand do not require visa.
All other nationals should check their position with regard to passports and visas with the nearest Embassy or Office of Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Visitors who do not wish to have their passports stamped by the authorities on arrival in North Cyprus may request a stamped visa form which is loosely inserted into the passport and removed on departure.

How to get to North Cyprus?

There are daily scheduled flights from major European capitals and from the major cities of Turkey to Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus.

Regular scheduled and charter flights to North Cyprus are provided by: 

  • Cyprus Turkish Airlines
  • Turkish Airlines
  • Atlas Jet 

There are also ferryboats running from the Turkish ports of Istanbul, Antalya, Alanya, Mersin and Taşucu; from Haifa, Israel; and Lattakia, Syria to the North Cyprus ports of Famagusta and Kyrenia.
